Vauxhall to return to the Festival of Speed
Posted 2nd June 2015

Vauxhall will make a dramatic return to the Festival of Speed as 1,400hp of VXR machinery takes to the hillclimb in a stunning 'road-train' lead by renowned stunt driver Paul Swift.

Using VXR road cars, from the new Corsa VXR to the top-of-the-range, 586hp, VXR8 GTS, Paul and his team will complete a piece of precision driving that truly lives up to this year's theme of 'Flat-Out and Fearless: Racing on the Edge'.

Away from the track action, Vauxhall will host a trio of ultra-rare pre-war cars including the 1922 TT: Vauxhall's only Grand Prix racer. Alongside the TT will be a 300bhp 1930 Villiers Supercharge and a 1910 C-10 'Prince Henry': widely acknowledged as the first 'proper' sports car.

Vauxhall will also present their 'Dream Garage' at FoS. A stunning collection of cars which will include the iconic, 176mph, Lotus Carlton, the Firenza HP 'Droopsnoot', 2003 Lightning Concept and a VXR220 that was the very first vehicle to carry the VXR badge.

Those keen on the more modern stuff will appreciate Vauxhall's latest Corsa VXR and the brand-new Viva, alongside its 1960s namesake.

For those a little too young to drive, the Vauxhall Family Experience will provide entertainment for all ages. Based near Gate 1 it will feature radio-controlled cars, the ADAM Pedal Car Raceway, Vauxhall Crazy Football and a host of other activities designed to keep youngsters entertained.
