Paul Swift leads Ford’s electric charge at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Precision driver Paul Swift is showcasing the new breed of electric cars from Ford at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.

For the first time Ford is taking an all-electric line-up of vehicles to the festival with Paul helping to demonstrate the fun-to-drive character of electric cars.

“It’s a real honour to be helping Ford showcase the future of motoring and really demonstrate to people that electric cars not only look fabulous, but have tremendous power and are really fun to drive,” said Paul.

Ford is committed to delivering the most engaging, stimulating and rewarding driving experiences for customers – whether they choose mild hybrid, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid or all electric powertrains.

To support this pledge Paul will be driving the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400, a prototype developed to demonstrate the performance possibilities of an electric car and the precision driver says it certainly brought a huge grin to his face when he tested the car earlier this week.

He will be demonstrating the drifting capability of the car in a display sure to wow the crowds while British racing driver Richard Westbrook will drive the car in timed runs.

“This car has absolutely phenomenal power and in all the years I have been driving at the Festival of Speed this is the first time I will be driving something purpose-built for stunts and I can’t wait to put on a good show,” he said.

Paul will also be showcasing the Mach-E GT with the car making its European driving debut at Goodwood. Paul will be at the wheel for the timed runs and is confident the car will be a real show stopper.

“It is super fast and has an incredible acceleration from 0-60mph but it also looks great so I can’t wait to drive this one at Goodwood.”

The Mustang Mach-E GT is the highest performing road-going version of the all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV.
